I believe Suzuki is a great place to start, as it gives learners a chance to practice specific technical and musical skills before moving on to more challenging material. Suzuki also emphasizes listening to professionals perform pieces you're working on, which I believe is important as it allows you to "absorb" good habits. I have the most experience teaching beginner students with the Suzuki method. The main focus of Dr. Suzuki’s method is teaching from a place of love and encouragement. I find this method teaches the technical fundamentals of cello playing while keeping the students progressing at rate suitable for their individual needs. My teaching experience began around 2012 when I taught some of my teacher's students while she was out of town for the summer. Throughout college and graduate school, I maintained a small studio of a handful of students. After graduating in 2016, I began to grow my private studio as well as working with music schools throughout Denver, including Denver Public Schools, and Douglas County Schools. It has been 16 years for playing cello and orchestra whether in school and outside of school, and also for teaching experience.
