I offer the Suzuki method of teaching for all beginners and pair it with Essentials for Strings to engage music theory into the lessons. As the students progress there are more books to choose and duets to practice Chamber Music and more advanced techniques. For Beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Suzuki Method, and essentials for Strings. After they have graduated and begin reading and understanding the basic concepts of music , and reading we begin to play duets and test of types of music. Read More

Better understanding how things works on cello, will help to achieve desirable result. Through working process begin to introduce appropriate repertoire needed for daily improvement. The office was always dimly lit. Shelves of well read books and yellowed ripped sheet music lined the walls. The entire room had a smell of old paper, years of rosin buildup in the corners, and the smell of varnish from the short row of school instruments that students could borrow behind the tiniest teacher desk I had ever seen. I spent 3 years in this tiny office. This office would come to be the room where I got to know the violoncello. Read More
