Theodore Hom is a cellist with the San Gabriel Symphony and South Orange County Orchestra. He was a fellow of the California Young Artists Symphony and regularly subs with the Huntington Beach Symphony and Roudaki Orchestra. He has also given solo performances across Asia and Europe. He has performed under conductors including Gustavo Dudamel, Rafael Payare, David Chan, Shardad Rohani, Mei-Ann Chen, Josep Caballé Domenech, and Johannes Müller-Stosch, at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, Tanglewood Music Center, Harpa Concert Hall, Segerstrom Concert Hall, and Ambassador Auditorium. For stringed instruments, I uses the Suzuki method for teaching the basic repertory of the instruments. This method is an ear training method in which the student plays by ear. It starts out very simple so students of all ages can learn and progress very quickly. Started playing the cello at the age of nine, I grew up pursuing my passion as a classical performer, and now have passion in sharing it to others. I graduated at Boston Conservatory at Berklee with a Bachelors of Music Performance. At the age of 15, I had my first stage debut at the Winners Solo Concerto Performance with the W Philharmonic Orchestra. I've played cello and piano since childhood and recieved my Masters in Cello Performance from the University of Redlands in May of 2014. Prior to that I recieved my Bachelors in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Northern Colorado. I've also recieved a certificate in Film and Television Scoring from the UCLA Extension.
