Since I have a variety of instruments and style I teach and since the needs of each student are different, I structure my materials and teaching methods for the individual. I particularly enjoy teaching beginners and young children. I've taught piano from many books including John Thompson books and Hal Leonard Series. Both my mother and grandmother were pianists and teachers. My first experience teaching was during the summer when I began instructing swim lessons for the town pool. I quicly began to seek out a way to teach music before I was in college and built a small studio of beginner cellists in my home town. I also began performing in both classical and other styles during this time, something I continue to do today. I have always had a passion for music and theatre. I began my professional career when I was 15 singing as the lead cantor for my local church. This helped me progress vocally so that by the time I entered college I was able to focus on a performance aspect. I have been in multiple choirs, including church choirs, show choirs, jazz choirs, and classical choirs. I graduated from Indian River State College with an Associate of Arts in Music. Read More
