For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements and incorporate Position Pieces for Cello by Rick Mooney as they progress to higher levels of difficulty. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. I have always had a passion for music and theatre. I began my professional career when I was 15 singing as the lead cantor for my local church. This helped me progress vocally so that by the time I entered college I was able to focus on a performance aspect. Since I have a variety of instruments and style I teach and since the needs of each student are different, I structure my materials and teaching methods for the individual.
