After students have worked through this, we begin working on solo repertoire to get students excited to perform songs at their first recital! I usually begin by working through the Suzuki method books, and then from there try to branch out into other material depending on the student's skill. I'm always open to trying different songs and even encourage my students to find songs that they want to play.
