For piano students, I like to use Alfred's piano methods. I find that their methods for both kids and adults not only covers the basic fundamentals of music, but they are also able to make everything comprehensive and enjoyable. For guitar, I like to use Hal Leonard's basic guitar book for students focusing on popular music and basic guitar, and for classical guitar I like to use the Christopher Parkening Method. Read More

My first ever performance was at a piano recital as a 6-year old. By the 5th grade I was performing with a genuine garage band, making our debut performance headlining at our elementary schools talent show. From that time forward I've been in countless multifarious bands and have been performing music in some form or other ever since. I have performed with and sat in for some of the finest NY metro area musicians including the late great Melvin Sparks, Scott Spray (Johnny Winter), Scott Lebish (James Brown) Gil Paris and Jeff Smith. I am a music instructor born and raised in Connecticut. I have been playing music for ten years, both self-taught, and with lessons. My experience playing has led me to play in several local bands as well. I am currently going to Western Connecticut State University to get my Bachelor's degree in music, and to further my education. What brings me to Musika is the opportunity to teach the skills that I have acquired through years of playing and learning. Read More

I've had 10 years of teaching experience with developing my own approach to custom lessons for different needs and tastes in music. I began teaching in 2004 and never looked back.I have also coached ROCK BANDS and taught rock-band clinics in the past 6 years.I've acquired so much experience from teaching different styles. I believe everyone is different and it takes a certain approach to learning music. I'm very passionate with teaching music and music theory, and I love explaining what goes behind students' favorite songs such as chord progressions, scales, and technique. "Practice makes perfect"- I can't stress enough how important it is for a student to practice and do their homework and work on their developments. Read More

My teaching style really depends on the student taking the lessons. It's important to set realistic goals each week for students that way they can progress at his or her own pace. Recognizing accomplishments goes a long way to fuel a student's desire to progress and makes the student coming back to learn more. By finding out what inspires the student to play, I can tailor my methods to their own wants and needs. Read More

This was an eye-opening experience as I learned various techniques and styles from some very talented and well-known musicians.I studied music theory and jazz improvisation at Newtown High School in Sandy Hook, CT before going on to obtain my B.S. in Justice and Law Administration from WCSU, graduating in 2013 (the backup plan every family member suggested). Over the years I have been in many bands that include the following styles of music: Folk, Rock, Metal, Punk, and Reggae. Read More
