I like to start my lessons by working on a song of the students choice to spark their interest. From there, I move to focusing on the students needs technically, rhythmically and theoretically. I am primarily a percussionist, with over 10 years of expierience playing and performing in jazz bands, marching bands, musical theatre, small ensembles, wind ensembles, and symphonies, and I was the principle percussionist for 2 years while I was in college. I also have 5 years of expierience on the trumpet, 15 years of guitar, as well as expierience with many other instruments. I won the grand-prize and special prize in National Youth wind instrument players contest (1985) competition at the age of 19, and made my concerto debut with the State Opera Orchestra later that year. I got my Bachelor degree from Music College in 1985, and Master's Degree from Gnessin Academy of Music - 1990, Moscow, Russia. In 1991-96 I was the Soloist at a State Jazz Orchestra in Moscow.I played with all major jazz musicians of post-Soviet era and frequently toured around Russia, Spain, Finland, Poland, Germany, Israel, Egypt, Greeks, Italy and Switzerland. Combined with that I have my own curriculum of style studies and songs which include many genres of music.
