Although I have experience teaching both private, one-on-one lessons and group lessons in a classroom setting, I find that one-on-one lessons is the best way to learn. This allows students to go at their own pace and not have to feel rushed. Not to mention, it's way more enjoyable to learn when you have a patient teacher giving you support and motivation. I don't like to rush students because after all, most students just want to learn for fun. Read More

Music in the school system is taught backwards. If you're a beginner, you were put in a beginning class. this makes it very difficult for students to advance quickly because they aren't playing music with people who are more advanced than them. I make sure the students have the ability to play the instrument before they learn a ton of theory, because knowing how the wrritten form of music work without being able to play them is recipe for frustration. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage my students by setting realistic goals and proving homework after each lesson to perfect for the next lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a student desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the students, I can successfully tailor my instruction to his or her learning style. Read More

Proving themselves wrong, they were very successful with their new found talent. I have been a professional recording artist and live performer since the age of 15. I began teaching around the same time as a way of earning extra spending money. As the years went on, I fell deeper in love with teaching and formed a career out of it. My love and appreciation for all styles and genres of music has given me the opportunity to teach various styles of music and instruments. Read More
