My musical experience began back when I was 11 years old. I was introduced to music when I was a boy and from that point on my life changed. Through the course of my career I have played many genres of music such as Classical, Jazz, Latin, Pop, Rock, Blues, and Commercial Music. I graduated from the University Cal State Long Beach back in 2009 with and emphasis in instrumental music. I do enjoy teaching out of books, especially younger children. It gives a visual to emphasize what I am teaching. A lot of the books I use are from Hal Leonard, but then I also have custom exercises for all different genres of music. Younger students, I tend to teach reading music with single notes as it is easier on the hands. It then creates an avenue to introduce basic music theory concepts. Read More

If they like Led Zeppelin then I will find a way to use Zep licks and solos to teach them the basics of the instrument to the advanced understandings of solos. For beginner students I always start with basic chords, chromatics, and ways to warm up.
