I have taught instrumental music in public schools for 5 years which has included teaching grades 5-12 in subjects such as beginning band, beginning orchestra, intermediate band, intermediate orchestra, marching band, percussion ensembles, and small group/individual instruction. I have been teaching private lessons in drums, piano, and concert band instruments for 10 years. I studied classical guitar and studied with the amazing guitarist and teacher Louis Steele. I was also active in all the Jazz ensembles, choirs, and Pep Bands. After graduating I toured the Western US with the indie/soul group Hello Dollface. In my tenure in the band we released two albums, completed a Kick-starter for $10,000, and toured in every western state in the US performing in bars, theaters, private events and festivals. Because of this, most of my curriculum is based around music of the students choosing, so they keep engaged and wanting to keep learning.
