Andy has been teaching private lessons for thirteen years and has educated students ages five through seventy-five. He teaches drums, percussion, piano, violin and viola and incorporates all styles including classical, jazz and popular music. Andy has a strong background in music theory, aural skills and improvisation, and tries to include all aspects of music into his lessons. For beginners, which is mainly what I've taught so far, I try and see what their goals are and teach them accordingly. Both students I've taught have had entirely different goals, one just trying to learn drumset and the other wanting to learn a song for his talent show. I started playing at about the age of three. I had several family memeber who played semi-professionally part time. I would accompany them to rehearsals and gigs. As Igrew older I started singing and playing along with the groups. In 2005-2006 i started giving private  lessons at first in teenagers or people around 20-25 years old.
