Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Trumpet, Bass Guitar, Synthesizer, Music, Keyboard, Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar, Acoustic Guitar

During my time there, I also self-recorded and produced my first three full length albums as well as Elizabeth Boaz's album "Forgiving the Rain." As a trumpet player, I was a member of the Seattle Chinese Orchestra for three years and the Seattle-based band Dismal Thinkings. Following graduation, I moved to Petaluma to quarantine, teach music lessons, and work on musical projects with my duo Honey Disposition. While my primary instrument is trumpet, I also love to teach piano, guitar, songwriting, producing, composition, and theory. Read More

Instruments: Voice, Flute

For beginning Flute students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements.  Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their firset recital performance.  For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Saxophone, Clarinet, Bass Guitar, Synthesizer, Ukulele, Music, Keyboard, Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar, Acoustic Guitar

For kids I find that having a large quantity of music to learn at each level gives more variety and sense of achievement, so I usually recommend beginning students have multiple books to aid in learning. For example a young piano student will study from lesson, theory, performance, and technique books each week. This yields a well-rounded student who is proud of their achievements and eager to move forward. For adults I recommend a lesson/theory combination book at least to help with reading music. Instruments: Piano, Voice, Music

For my young, beginning students, I have used Faber Piano Adventures. I find that the repetition with fingering and technique is essential for aspiring artists. As the students progress, I continue to use the same method as well as bringing in solo repertoire, especially as it pertains to performance and preparing students for NFMC testing. For voice, I always find out what the student is interested in, especially for adult students. Read More

Instruments: Voice

While I sometimes recommend rep for certain students, I like to begin with songs that are meaningful to them, provided that I see no way it could be harmful to their voice. If the student feels insecure (all too common of a problem) I try to help them feel relaxed and comfortable while boosting their confidence. I believe that finding one's voice can have powerful implications in other areas of life. Read More

It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
