Teacher interaction with hands-on at lessons: In order to help students understand the feeling of correct violin playing, I occasional assist them in such ways as guiding the bow, hands, and arms. Student interaction: I want every one of my students to be engaged and excited while learning the violin. My aim is to combine fun with learning. For students who are children, I have a vareity of teaching style opportunities including the Suzuki Method, Essential Elements, Janice Rhoda's Complete Techniques, and other teaching methods. All of my students recieve education in music theory, rhythm, aural skills (voice/ear lessons), performance techniques, sight reading, and of course intrument technique. I believe the best teaching method is one that focuses on the accomplishments of each student. I have several different rewards systems that I will use to motivate students to practice at home. Part of this system is encouraging my students to set their own realistic goals and walking them through how to reach them. I have been teaching professionally for 11 years. Before I began my professional teaching career I already had several years of experience instructing my two younger siblings in violin and cello, even serving as a primary instructor to one of the siblings at one point. I have mainly taught private lessons out of my home. However, I was also a violin teaching assistant at the University of Oklahoma, I have helped teach private and group classes for music camps and events across the country, and am currently employed at School of Creative Arts in Cary.
