My curriculum is unique for each individual depending on their goals and age, however I generally start beginners out with Hal Leonard’s Essential Elements for Strings, and a few of my own exercises as needed. After they have become comfortable with the violin I begin them on the Suzuki books or other solo repertoire. I have been playing the violin for the past nine years and have had four excellent violin instructors, each with different backgrounds and approaches to violin instruction. Because of this, I have had well-rounded education in the violin which is a great benefit in my violin teaching. I use a variety of different methods and I tailor my curriculum to each individual student, offering you a personalized approach that is unique to your personality and learning style. I teach repertoire from the Suzuki Violin School and Barbara Barber's Solos for Young Violinists, I also like to incorporate other styles if the student is interested, such as fiddle and bluegrass, and even pop and Disney songs. I also use etude and scale books to help build and enhance certain techniques, such as Wolfhart Etudes, Barber Barber Scales for Young Violinist, Carl Flesch Scale System, etc., depending on the level and individual needs of the student.
