String students: For both younger and adult beginners, I like to use a combination of the Suzuki books and the Essential Elements series. The student does not need to develop exceptional musicianship, but they are required enough interest in developing musical skills. Musical education is as important as developing math or language skills in developing the mental abilities in children.
