This book introduces the student to the instrument in the most practical way while making it fun, and it has the student reading music from the beginning, which I find very important. For beginning students I start with Suzuki books until about book 5 and then begin to branch out into other repertoire.  I teach students to read music as well as basic theory. Scales, arpeggios, etudes and other exercises are an important part of daily practice, reinforced by weekly technique classes.
