Music is something that takes time to understand. It clicks in some students, but most kids take a while to develop musically. Patience is the most pronounced characteristic in my teaching style. It's easy to tell the student what they're doing wrong and what to correct, but that doesn't mean it's the most effective practice. Some kids will get nervous and make the same mistake over and over again. This is where it's important to use positive reinforcement and give the student time and space to be able to understand their mistake and fix it. Read More

As in the above-mentioned orchestra I also partook in different presentations in the cities of Manzanillo, Colima, Zamora and Guadalajara. In 2013 I was honored to participate as a guest to the orchestra for a festival in which the Mexican composer Arturo Márquez was the organizer and director. I have taken classes with various Chamber Music ensembles like the St. Petersburg String Quartet (Russia), Amernet String Quartet (USA), Trio Broz (Italy), Quarteto Latinoamericano and the student cellist of M. After, I will introduce the students to scales and arpeggios which will progress from one octave all the way to four octaves. Once students have grasped fundamental violin playing, i will introduce the student to different repertoire based on the students skill set and also desire. For older more advanced students, I will evaluate their current playing level and then teach according to their needs and goals whether it is playing for fun, auditioning for an orchestra, competitions, or etc. Read More

It is my joy seeing my students learn from me and become successful in their musical journey. I help my students discover and develop their skill and talent in music. I always encourage my students to go beyond their comfort zone; to show their talents in music, and to share it to the community. I also incorporate games in my teaching. I also give my students an opportunity to choose the music they want to learn and teach it to get their interest. Read More

For my beginning students, I start out with a mixture of my own exercises, as well as basic songs using open strings, string crossings and rhythms, before moving to songs with basic fingerwork on one string (scale plus rhythm based). I usually supplement this beginning process with Essential Elements, before intruducing the Suzuki Method Book 1, Doflein Method Book 1, and rhythmic exercises from the Kodaly method. For my intermediate students, I use a mixture of Galamian bowing technique, emphasis on etudes and position work, Suzuki method, Barbara Barber scales and rep. books, and level-appropriate classical literature, combined with solo repetoire of the student's interest/choosing. I really enjoy teaching and working with people! My goal is to see each student learn at their own pace, and develop a love for music. My approach is to set realistic goals at each lesson, so that students can achieve, and have their achievements acknowledged, so they feel excited to progress and learn more. Along with basic technique, the lesson will focus on the fun and enjoyment of music, trying to learn what inspires each student, along with setting realistic challenges for each student, to work hard to get to the next level.
