I am a passionate and motivated instructor with a love for working with students of all ages and levels. I hold four degrees in violin performance and have been teaching for nineteen years. I am a violinist with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic. I teach a mixture of Traditonal and Suzuki. I offer a strong studio environment and love to help students reach their goals. I collaborate with my students to determine their needs and goals. When starting out with beginners, I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for Strings. I then transition to Suzuki repertoire. I also include music individual to each student based on their interests. My methods are flexible and designed to draw out the strengths of each student. With over a decade of experience teaching, Nerea has taught music to thousands of students in private and group lessons as well as in ensembles and schools. Although Nerea has taught and continues to teach Beginner to Advanced Violin, from ages 3 - 53, her specialty is "Fiddle" music. She is highly knowledgeable in Cape Breton, Scottish, Irish, traditional Breton, Celtic and World music.
