Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! I tailor things to each students age, level and goals. I think anyone is able to learn an instrument and understand that we each learn and approach things differently. Some students are more oral or visual learners. In 2008 Nerea started working in schools through numerous Artist and Residency programs, helping children create their own songs, preparing performances, and combining poetry with music. In 2013 Nerea moved to Dubai where she taught music for 5 years in International, American and British schools. I collaborate with my students to determine their needs and goals. When starting out with beginners, I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for Strings. I then transition to Suzuki repertoire. I also include music individual to each student based on their interests. My methods are flexible and designed to draw out the strengths of each student. I like to have open communication with my students, and I like to get feedback from my students about where they are at so I can meet them there. Read More
