I have held the concertmaster position in the Taneycomo Festival Orchestra, the Resurrection Orchestra, the Philharmonia of Greater Kansas City, and assistant concertmaster of the Eutin Opera Orchestra in Germany. As a soloist, I performed with the Resurrection Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Northland Cathedral, the University of Saint Mary Symphony, Oral Roberts University Symphony, and the University of Kansas Symphony Orchestra. Her viola teachers have been Dr. Steven Kruse, concert virtuosos Paul Coletti and Scott Lee, and composer Robert Hagenbuch. At the Conservatory she pursued the violin and took lessons from Paul Hatton of the Kansas City Symphony. Karla also received her Music Educators license in Instrumental Music from William Jewell College in 2005.
