I cater my teaching to the students needs as an individual and their goals. I am interested in fostering their inate musical abilities, as well as the musical skills they wish to obtain. I will take the students progress seriously, and expect them to do the same, so I make sure the expectation to practice is clear. Read More

I choose music that will help students in many different areas. I can suggest a method book that I use for my students, or I can work in the existing method book of a student, if that is what he or she prefers. Lessons should be a combination of fundamental musical skills and other types: such as band music being worked on, solo pieces for competitions, and music chosen simply for enjoyment. Read More

I do tailor my music lessons for the individual student. There really is no making a general statement for a specific person. There are, however, some very fundamental aspects of learning music for all people which will definitely include practicing and mastering scales of all type, performing with others, and using the ears to truly listen to intervals and the emotions that are invoked by performing certain keys in specific styles.
