This is the second best drum corp (at the time) in the world out of over a dozen different division 1 corps. At one point 10 years ago when I was teaching a student theory, she completely shut down and wanted no longer to take piano lessons because of the difficulty of it. I graduated from the State University of New York at Fredonia in May 2017 with two Bachelors degrees in music education and flute performance. My method of teaching is to start students with a strong foundation of buzzing and making characteristic sounds on the horn. This includes buzzing with and without the mouthpiece. Also, my students must be able to read music. Reading music is very important to me, having the students be musically literate with a decent tone will take a student far in their musical career.
