I am a passionate instructor looking to teach my knowledge of trombone to any and all students. In May, 2018 I graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a BA in Music Business. For four years I took lessons with James Erdman, retired Marine Band first chair trombone, and performed in over 4 ensembles every semester. I have been teaching Prek- 8th Grade general music, choir, drama and instrumental lessons for the past 5 years. My primary instrument is trumpet and I have played in a variety of bands and sung in a variety of choruses of the years. For beginner students, I typically start with the Hal Leonard Essential Elements book. For more advanced students I love using Rochut Melodious Etudes and Arban's Method book. For all students, learning and being comfortable with all scales and keys is an essential fundamental skill I teach. In general, I am open to students bringing material they wish to work on, as long as they are progressing with fundamentals at an appropriate level. Read More

My approach is always to make music first. Yes I like to teach how to play "correctly" and all the "right" notes, but at the end of the day there is something bigger to take from music. Music moves people and it is my job as a teacher to show my students that beauty. The point of the lesson is to teach the student how to practice the materials and better themselves. I just want to see my students try, that is most important to me. At a younger age, I like to explore music they might already know or recognize from some form of media. In addition to performing in myriad musical idioms, I have made a career of private teaching, having conducted over 26,000 lessons since 2001.
