Instruments: Trumpet Trombone
I began teaching lessons in college, and have enjoyed it from the very first day. I try to evaluate each student spefifically and see what they need to improve in the most efficient manner possible. Exercises and drills are present in my lessons, but I alwaystry to teach the bulk of trumpet fundamentals through actual music such as etudes, solos, band music, duets, etc. In this style of teaching, the students can pick what they want to play (after I give them a few guidelines), and we can still target the areas of playing that need work. Teaching has always been a passion of mine! In 2019, I graduated from University of Central Arkansas with my Bachelor of Music Education. From there, I earned a Graduate Certificate in Trombone Performance from the University of Central Arkansas in 2020. Finally in May 2023, I earned my Master of Music in Trombone Performance with a secondary area in Music Education. I have experiences teaching in several settings: elementary classes, middle school classes, and private lessons from 6th grade all the way up to college students. Read More
Instruments: Trombone Euphonium Tuba
In high school, as a leader in our band program, I began helping other band members in need. It was then that I fell in love with the art of teaching. I began officially teaching private lessons five years ago when I started college. I have taught in the San Antonio, Austin, Cedar Park and Pflugerville area, students ranging from middle school to college level. I like to set goals with the students, short term and long term, to measure progress and have something to work towards. Read More

My lesson style is unique. First thing first is to have fun. There is no reason you should be taking lessons if you are not having fun playing your instrument. I try to make my lessons educational and exciting all in one. Read More

I believe that each student requires differing methods of instruction in order to grow, so I stay adaptable in which exercises and etudes/solos I assign to meet this requirement. I am also generally happy to hear whatever a student wants to bring in if they have suggestions of their own. I think that being open to working on what a student wants to work on, at least most of the time, is instrumental in ensuring that the student stays motivated in their practicing and continues to have fun playing the trombone! I know that most of my young students are in their school's band program, so I use a combination of whatever method books they use there plus my own supplemental materials I have found to be effective over years of teaching. If students are preparing for events like All-Region/All-District auditions or a Solo Festival, I spend plenty of time helping them with that. For other students, I have several books of progressive etudes, includes Bordner's Books of Practical Studies and Sparke's Skilful Studies. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Trombone Drums Orchestral Percussion Djembe
I have been teaching students privately for over a decade, starting with teaching trombone in high school, continuning with drumming students in college, and teaching professional-leve drums and percussion, advanced trombone, and beginner guitar students. My primary passion lies in West African music, and I really enjoy bridging cultural gaps in my teaching. At the same time, I am rooted in American jazz, western classical music, and rudimentary style drumming. Read More
