My teaching style encourages the student to have fun, be expressive, and get curious about music. I keep things very simple in my lessons. Each student I have ever taught progresses at their own pace. So for me as the teacher I work in the lesson to give them the tools they need to work. It is very. important in lessons to acknowledge the student's accomplishments so that they are aware of where they are growing. Read More

My teaching started in my undergrad, about 5 years ago when I was required to take a Vocal Pedagogy class as part of my major. From there I fell in love with teaching. I was able to expand on my love as a substitute teacher at Rabun Gap Academy in Rabun Gap Georgia in 2012. There I taught five girls ranging from 8-15. I continued that until 2014, I then took on two colleagues, a girl who was 24 at the time and a guy who was 19 and taught them for a year. Read More

My passion for singing dates back to when I was a child, singing in choirs and performing in churches. In 2011, I graduated from the Greatbach School of Music at Houghton College, earning a bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance with honors. I have been blessed to perform in several regional theatre productions, as well as two off-Broadway shows. I have brought my love of coaching and teaching to these productions. I was the vocal captain at La Comedia Dinner Theatre in Ohio, and the music director for an off-Broadway production. Read More

My objective is to support the student in whatever path they'd like to follow. I'm happy to help complete beginners who want to sing at Karaoke or want a very in-depth understanding of technique. I can prepare a pro-singer for their next single or an actor for their audition. I also love to work with people who see singing as a joyous and healing practice in and of itself. I keep a journal (that is accessible over google drive) so students can look back on their progress. Read More
