Im a very go with the flow type of teacher. I will always cater to my students needs, so if that means sticking with one song for a year, thats what we will do. What I dont want to happen is for music to become a chore, so if we find that something isnt working, I have no problem switching it up. I began teaching beginner piano when I was in middle school and caught the teaching bug! (My dad was a high school choir teacher for thirty-five years, so I must have caught it from him.) Now I teach violin/fiddle, voice and piano. I believe that learning classical music and sight reading are both fundamentals to begin learning any instrument.
