In my classes I love to help students exploring their voice beyond the simple concept of learning a melody and repeating it, showing them how to use their instrument at its full potential of musical expression. For teens and adults, I like to find out what type of music my students listen to and gear our training toward using the instrument the choose to become a musician. The vocal security of the students is important and necessary at all costs and all the time. I solve little problems to make a big impact on the voice. I start every class warming up, and with every class we increase the vocal range with certain exercises depending on the level and age of the student. I was so lucky to be taught by the Metropolitan Opera Star Mignon Dunn, who is a Mezzo-soprano that sang 40 years in the Met with Placido Domingo, José Carreras, Frnaco Corelli, Kiri Te Kanawa, Luciano Pavarotti; the latter taught her the technique she passed to me.
