I have always had an interest in music, and that really blossomed into something more when I started playing the clarinet in elementary school. In 2021, I graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. I started teaching back in high school to marching band students that wanted to play saxophone. That experience turned into a passion that carried into college where I taught music ed students as well as anyone else that wanted to learn the saxophone. As a teacher, I encourage consistent practice on a regular basis to all my students so they can achieve what they wish to achieve. I've found that holding realistic goals as well as maintaining a balance between teaching different fundamentals is key to keeping students motivated and excited playing the saxophone. Read More

For beginning students, I find that the simpler the methods, the better. Essential Elements is a great series for beginners, and is a good way to teach basic music theory and musical ideas. As students progress, I like to introduce solo repertoire and books that are more specific to the instrument that they are learning. I also like to find out what music the student enjoys listening to, or has a desire to play, and start to add songs in that style to their list of practice pieces. Read More
