Instruments: Saxophone
I am new to teaching, though I have had success dabbling in teaching in the past. When I was in high school I coached middle school saxophone students and successfully prepared them for their biannual jazz concert. My experience, however, is as an all-around musician. I have been studying music for 18 years and I have been trained in classical, jazz and many other genres. I have recorded on three studio albums and performed countless shows. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Clarinet
I like to focus on the practical application and aural aspects of instrumental learning as well as the technical skills. I invest heavily in listening and understanding as opposed to the largely 'by rote' style I was subjected to growing up! Whilst I will follow a student/parents desired path regarding exams, I will provide a rounded musical learning and experience that will enable students to excel in all endeavours and be creative, as well as pass exams. Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
For beginners the first sound is the most important basic thing for a horn player (woodwind or brass). For children I use easy melodies they remember. This is helpful so they won'tget bored or tired easily. There are important transitional mechanisms in the clarinet especially that have to be overcome before starting with the scales studies. The books I use depend on the interest of the students. I have books for JAZZ, BRAZILIAN MUSIC, or CLASSICAL MUSIC (from Concert Solos to Opera overtures). Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet Music
For the beginning, students will start developing the technique of sound with simple exercises and tunes during which we will explore the basic music concepts: pitch, intervals, rhythm, dynamic expression, music notation and reading. After that process, we will start studying the chords and scales relationships, applied on the instrument, to develop a comprehension of the tonal-modal system. Then we will start playing more complex tunes and studying solos of the most important referents in the style you want to absorb in the musical language you want to explore. Read More

I have played with Symphonies, Big Bands, Jazz Bands, Ballets, and in many musical theater productions throughout California, and in Boston while attending Berklee. Read More

I start lessons by warming up and doing exercises. For children, I do this in a listen and response setting. Then I will work through school songs or performance pieces, focusing on rhythms first, notes second and musicallity third. These 3 aspects lead to musicial mastery. I finish each lesson with an easy cool down. With in each lesson, I focus on musical styles that the students are interested in and work towards goals that the student set for themelves. Read More

I do everything that is possible in a music lesson to inspire each of my students to love music and want to learn more. I encourage and praise students frequently. Having fun at the music lesson and accomplishing certain musical goals usually makes students eager to learn more. Of course, each student progresses at his or her own pace but practice is essential for progress and keeps the music lessons fun and exciting. Read More
