Creativity (improvising, learning by ear) Parents: You MUST encouraging you child to practice or "play". When they practice, be there, let them know you love hearing them play. I was given a drumset when I was 9 and switched to drums full time when I was 11. After high school, I attended University of North Texas to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Performance.
