My life intention is to offer something meaningful to others, and teaching music is a central part of that. I moved to Denver to be the head of piano at CU Denver, and have now moved into nonprofit work, along with performing and teaching from my home studio. I focus on jazz and popular music, and teach all experience levels. I hold a recital date at the end of the "Fall" and "Spring" semester for my students with the opportunity to perform with a fantastic professional rhythm section! Read More

My students have gone from 5 year old beginners to very accomplished piano and guitar players. The student gets to pick the first two songs of the lesson, and I pick the next 2. That way, they get a lot of choice for the lessons. With the pandemic, the students have been very consistent with not missions lessons, which is pushing their progress as well. I, glad that I can provide a much needed outlet for them right now with things being a little different. Read More

I began teaching voice as a school project when I was 14 years old and realized that I I loved it! From then on, I always kept my hand in teaching throughout my high school and college years. I started teaching full time, at which point I added piano and speaking to my repertoire. I have experience as a performing singer, session musician and actor and I I love helping my students get the most out their lessons, whether they simply want to learn their instrument to the best of their ability, or learn more about writing music and the industry. My teaching style is receptive and warm, but focused. I use goal-setting as a satisfying and organized way to break down musical lessons, which means lessons time is well spent and students have a good understanding of how and what to practice. Students remain engaged and satisfied with this approach, which provides proof of the progress that is taking place in lessons and in private practice time. Since music learning is highly cumulative, it's important to me that students have a thorough understanding of principles before moving on to new ones. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
My teaching style is free flowing and depends on the specific student. Everybody's experience with music is different and not everybody will pick things up as quickly as others so you must meet them where they are. Music is nerve-racking at first because expressing ourselves isn't something that is always encouraged so I look for something they are interested in to start off. From there, we build on musicality and find their original response to music. Read More
