I like to teach and talk about the songs and styles that were taught to me by my father when I was just getting in to music and guitar. The first thing I remember learning were "Hey Joe" by Hendrix, which is actually simpler than most people would expect. The basic standards of guitar were taught to me when I was first learning, and that's what excites me to teach to the next generation of guitarists. Read More

I feel that teaching is not just a job but a calling. After 30 plus years of performing I feel now is the time to share my skills and experience to the next generation of musicians. I believe my job as a teacher is now just to show different methods but to motivate the students to practice and become a lover of the piano. My goals for the student is to measure their own weekly growth. Read More

My teaching style is fairly relaxed, a student needs to enjoy the lessons or we are really wasting our time. There is no reason for music lessons to be dreary, almost all of my students enjoy their lessons and have no problem coming back week after week to be challenged again. For advanced students I really want to focus on the music you really want to play. If its your dream to play light classics for friends and family, then we will work on that. Read More

My desire is for all of my students to know and learn proper technique. For beginner students, I will start with theory basics that are foundational to learning and can be directly applied to their instrument. Once they gain a basic understanding of the fundamentals, I will introduce more complete solo repertoire that they can begin to work on. Depending on the interests, learning desires, and level of the student, I will move forward with what interests them, though I may require some classical selections as I believe it to be a style foundational to a great musician.
