I graduated from Messiah College in 2013 with a Bachelor of the Arts, and I received my Master's of Music Education from Boston University in 2019. I start all students with getting a firm grasps of the basics of tone production and air support. I do this through long tone exercises as well as scale work to start learning more notes on the instrument. I focus on slowing incorporating more dynamics, articulation, and time signatures from there. Zac is recipient of several awards including the Friends of DCI Scholarship, the Lacey/Striple Highland Band and Drum Scholarship, and KK Most Inspirational Band Member Award. Zac is a founding member of the Cincinnati Bengals Growl Drumline as well as director/founder of the Dayton Dragons Drumline. In addition to instructing at Cap City, Zac is currently the percussion director of Miamisburg High School, drumline teacher for Miami University, and a freelance performer and lesson instructor. I had worked with a public primary school’s students and had some experience to work with 6 classes (each contains 60 students) before I earned a Bachelor's Degree during required practical training. Through explaining music knowledge to children from 6-year-olds to 12-year-olds I learned to communicate with people with patient explanations and the deep understanding of people’s situations.
