I'm a passionate and motivated teacher who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2017, I graduated from UTSA with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. I worked closely with Opera San Antonio for several years. Then, in 2024 I graduated from UMKC with a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to sing both with the New York Dramatic Voices as well as touring the United Kingdom with Music Across the Pond. I create my own custom lesson plans upon each students needs/wants. After an assessment of skills I create a plan to help the student harness in on the things that need work and polish the skill sets that are already there. Usually, I pick a good series of lesson books that we will work through together. If it is an entirely new student I work at things one at a time to make sure we're getting in all the basics and fundamentals needed for the more advanced skills. Read More

Practice makes perfect. I believe the basics are the most important part to any education including a musical one. Just as a building requires a solid foundation before it can rise to the sky so too do students need to master fundamentals before moving on to the more challenging aspects of their instruments. I began my professional career in 1992 when I successfully auditioned for the U.S. Marine Band program. I served for four years before I began my teaching experience. Since 1996, I have taught students in private settings in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Lubbock. I also spent some time teaching in the small public school system in West Texas. I love teaching students privately one on one. My youngest student was 4; a Piano student. She was from a Russian family and didn’t speak a word of English. Teaching her was a joint effort between myself and the girl’s mother who did speak English; a very interesting experience. My oldest student was 86; a Guitar student. He had studied previously with another instructor and loved to play. I focused on material that would not only improve his abilities but provide him with something that he could play for people in his social groups. Read More
