In 2015-2016 I worked at Archimedean Middle Conservatory in Miami, FL teaching 6-8th grade general music. All students learned drum rudiments and call and response techniques. I also ran an after-school drum program where students learned more complex rudiments, rhythms, and how to play as a group. Later I formed the funk/soul band Bacon and as the bandleader I wrote much of the music, and managed the band. We recorded a self-titled EP and received a grant from the Durango Arts Center to produce the album.Currently I am performing in the country duo H and H music, the pop duo Spacecat, and a funk and Motown cover band.Ihave relocated to Denver from Durango CO and am blessed withall the opportunities that the City of Denver has to offer. Open-minded and flexible, Nerea strives for her students to learn through fun, hands on activities, always leaving her lessons with smiles on their faces. Beginner students are always taught the basics of posture, positioning and how to move the bow on the strings.
