I love watching my students grow and be inspired to play something they like! I do try to be sensitive to each student's learning pace. I always ask them if they have any questions and make sure I'm not going too fast for them, or too slow. I do my best to praise my students when I can tell they have worked hard and I try to keep them inspired and motivated to keep going and try to get something to the next level. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
I'm a motivated instructor of both clarinet and saxophone. I have been teaching full time for the past 22 years working with different schools and studios. I currently teach both saxophone and clarinet in a nearby public school during the day. Students have the option of taking lessons during the school day instead of after school. I enjoy playing in area ensembles and have worked with the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony as a woodwind coach for the past 6 years, I hold both a bachelor of music education and early childhood degrees. For beginning students it is important to develop a sense of enjoyment in playing, as well as a sound grasp of the fundamentals. I encourage students to explore and even compose music that they enjoy and will help them grow as a musician. I find this to be a great way to motivate students to practice and make music fun as well as educational. Read More

Similar to The Suzuki Method.. I take the concept further enabling the student to conceptualize and visualize music utilizing Einstein's 'The Fabric of Space and Time'.. Materializing music from the invisible to the visible, in ones mind as well as on paper, bringing music full circle, or 360* degrees..Example: a rain bow has a definitive structure of 7 colors, 7 days in a week etc. 12 months in a year 12 weeks in a season.. For beginning students it is essential to practice rudiments with a metronome. I will also start you out with basic 4/4 drum beats and explain to you the importance of balance and the back beat. The sooner a student learns proper posture and good technique the sooner they will be winning the battle of the bands. For the more advanced students we can work on specific songs or styles you are interested in, and we can cover the all important concept of improvisation. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Bass Guitar
For beginning students that are children, I like to start with Hal Leonard’s Essential Elements or any other book that has the basic principles of music in them. Once the student has progressed and has a good grasp of the fundamentals, I will bring in other repertoire appropriate to their level. For adults, I like to find out what the student is interested in and then tailor the lesson toward that to keep lessons engaging and fun no matter what their abilities are. I always try to keep the lessons fun and entertaining. Read More
