Instruments: Flute Piccolo
I began teaching part time when I was in college. After moving to Dallas, I continued to teach part time while attending graduate school. Upon graduation, I began teaching full time during the day at public schools and evenings in my own studio. Encouraging reguler practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for my students. This tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the flute. Read More

I usually start all of my piano students from the Alfred series. Those that are more advanced will complete the curriculum quicker.. Alfred seems to offer a more detailed instruction technique. It offers step by step instructions. The student can almost teach himself. For guitar I use the Everyday guitar method. This method introduces each string at a time. By the end of the book, you will be playing songs on each string. Read More
Instruments: Flute
I absolutely love teaching and have a strong passion for my students to succeed in whatever they want to do with the instrument. My teaching is very free, but at the same time quite strict. I can give the student all the tools they need not only to be successful with the instrument but hopefully fall in love with it, as I have. Read More
Instruments: Flute
I began teaching private flute lessons in 1988. I continued my flute studio and became a band director in 2000, and taught band in North and South Carolina until 2014. I now reside in Keller, Texas and have opened my flute studio to online students and the Keller/Fort Worth area. I am excited about teaching online because that allows me to reach students that I would never meet otherwise. Read More
Instruments: Trombone
I believe that each student requires differing methods of instruction in order to grow, so I stay adaptable in which exercises and etudes/solos I assign to meet this requirement. I am also generally happy to hear whatever a student wants to bring in if they have suggestions of their own. I think that being open to working on what a student wants to work on, at least most of the time, is instrumental in ensuring that the student stays motivated in their practicing and continues to have fun playing the trombone! I've been teaching music for more than 12 years now. I can honestly say that I enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge of music. Not everyone can say that they truly enjoy their job so I feel blessed. I have taught hundreds of students ranging from ages 4 to 80! I have taught individuals, groups or online lessons. During the pandemic I was lucky to I keep working because of zoom lessons. I don't know what I would have done without zoom lessons. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I have always had a deep appreciation for music. This led me to learn to play piano, beginning at age 5. By age 7, I was writing pieces of my own. In highschool, I found that I enjoyed teaching piano to others. After college, I opened my own business, which I ran from the end of my first deployment, until the beginning of my second deployment (I am a National Guardsman), called CMPPC. Read More
