I like to find out why my students want to play guitar, what they want to play, and foster their continuing growth by teaching them what they want to learn. Having studied some of the most renowned saxophonists in their field, including Timothy McAllister and Eugene Rousseau, I am comfortable teaching saxophonists of all levels. As a performer I have won or placed in numerous competitions through the country, performed a concerto with a professional orchestra for an audience of 3,000, and have have played hundreds of jazz gigs. For the first twelve years, I was mentored under the tutelage of Janet Houston. I also have a combined 14 years of orchestral performance experience, beginning with the Dearborn Youth Symphony which lasted ten years.
