I first got into music when I was in elementary school. My first instrument was the upright bass fiddler. This help me learn the notes on the bass clef. I later learned to play trumpet which was the instrument that used to audition to get into the Navy Band. I start beginning students with both a method book and a blank manuscript which we use to journal weekly. The method book is to instill a variety of fundamental skills while the manuscript (or materials saved and shared in google drive) is used to be a fun way of focussing and developing each student's individual trajectory. I have been singing since the age of 10 when she first began performing at some of her father’s piano concerts. Graduating from both Lawrence University and Alverno College, she studied vocal performance, music education, and French. My favorite vocal genres include Broadway, Classical, Pop, Light Opera, and Jazz.
