For beginning students I start with Bastian Piano series. It has 4 books including piano, performance, technique and theory, which helps the student to have a full comprehension of piano playing. I will test students and then select a level to start. Once they complete the highest level, I will introduce solo repertoires and Hanon and Carl Czerny to enhence their skills. When students show progress with these types of instruction manuals we'll usually jump to specific pieces of music that focus on the elements that we learned about in our method books. We will and can do any or all of the following: Drums : pad rudiments , playing position training , speed and technique Drumset : rock folk and blues style drumming, some swing/jazz and funk and such. Handdrums: ocasionally i may bring over handdrums for a 15 minute session on how to play them!
