Associate of Arts, Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC)
I'm a dedicated and experienced guitar instructor who has worked with students of many different ages and skill levels. Over the past 20 years, I have performed, recorded and toured with several noteworthy regional and national recording artists, while also furthering my education along the way. Although I have had some incredible experiences as a performing musician, my biggest passion is sharing my musical knowledge with others. I have had the pleasure of helping countless guitarists become better at their craft through my teaching, and welcome students from any background to contact me about scheduling lessons. I look forward to hearing from you, and helping you make your musical dreams a reality!
I began teaching guitar at 16 for several local music stores in the Baltimore metro area, and quickly took to working with a wide range students in a short period of time. The passion I developed for teaching the instrument at a young age pushed me to further branch out, and begin offering private lessons from my home studio several years later. In addition to this, I also pursued my own path to learning more about my instrument by attending the Community College of Baltimore County where I earned an A.A in General Studies with a concentration in music. Since then, I have built countless positive relationships with many of my students, and had the pleasure of of watching them go on to become incredible guitarists, and look forward to working with more in the future.
I place a strong focus on fundamentals, while customizing lesson plans based on the student's skill level and musical interests. Most importantly, I like to keep things fun for my students by finding out more about their favorite recording artists, and creating exercises that incorporate this into their learning. By connecting with these unique interests and encouraging regular practice, lessons are much more enjoyable for students. In addition , more traditional concepts such as music theory are also offered on request. Lessons are generally self paced, based upon age, skill level, and several other factors.
Watching a student develop their playing is an incredibly gratifying experience for me as a teacher. To help encourage this,I put a great effort into connecting with the student's interests from day one. With each lesson, I work with them to set goals that are within their reach, while maintaining a relaxed, self-paced learning environment that is both fun and comfortable. My teaching style incorporates both traditional, and non-traditional techniques, all customized to meet each person's own unique needs. I believe one of the keys to success as a musician is having confidence in one's ability, therefore I work hard to build this in my students early on, and continue to do so as they further progress with their instrument.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
