Instruments: Piano Voice
I began teaching music privately just before I started college. I taught private piano lessons part time to local kids who couldn't afford to take lessons from larger studios. I started teaching voice lessons not long after that and I have been teaching ever since. Total I have around 8 years of studio experience. I like to emphasize having fun while practicing with my students. I never want them to feel practicing is a chore. Read More

My primary goal as a teacher is to develop a love of music within the students. I'm more interested in developing Artists than I am developing "Performers". Perfection is not something that I aspire to as an Artist. Sometimes perfection, and striving for impeccable technique can become on of the biggest hinderances for a Musician to truly embody the stage, and show their passion. While I do have a focus on technique, I tend to find it within the student through their artistry, and I try to allow for that artistry to be the catalyst. Read More

Professional engagements have been in opera, musical theatre, and concert. I have been featured in solo concert appearances in Boston Symphony Hall, San Francisco's Alcazar and Cable Car Theatres, New York's Alice Tully Hall and Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall. In 2007, I was Quarter-Finalist on season 2 of NBC's America's Got Talent. I returned for season 3 where I was advanced to the Semi-Finals appearing before an audience of 12 million viewers each week. Read More

I was born with an "educator" mindset, and began teaching early on in my personal music studies. I began teaching about 10 years ago, in 2010, after getting into my undergraduate studies for music performance. I have taught all levels and in many different settings: To-date I have taught ages 6 through 65. I have taught in formal school system classrooms, private music studios, community centers and at a student's home. Everyone has a unique gift in music and I focus on honing this gift and letting it shine through. Read More
Instruments: Violin
I teach mainly out of the string builder series. After the student shows some progress I will introduce some solo pieces and maybe some studies to practice. My method really revolves around the student since everyone advances at their own pace. Some other method books could be Kreutzer, Sevcik, and wohlfhart. Some early pieces I could introduce would be Arcangelos Corelli's violin sonatas. Read More
Instruments: Oboe English Horn
One of my teachers told me, x22Practice does not make perfect, practice makes permanent!x22 I focus not just on technique and repertoire, but how to practice properly. Proper practice helps a student to learn and grow at home after a lesson. Imparting a student with the proper fundamentals to learn with is important to me. (From the perspective of someone who had to un-learn many bad habits upon acceptance as an oboe performance major.) Read More
