I began teaching music at a daycare when I was twenty years old (I am currently 24). I taught private piano and guitar lessons on a weekly basis. My youngest student at the time was a year and a half and my oldest student was twelve years old. I learned very quickly that one of the most important things is to inspire a love of music in each student because if you do not enjoy what you are doing you will never want to practice and if you don't want to practice there can be no improvement since forced practice is nothing more than another chore. I began offering private string lessons in College during summers in Florida. I taught private string lessons. Further into my education I took internships in music therapy working with many different populations. I gave therapeutic music lessons to patients in hospitals like Massachusetts General Hospital, Worcester Recovery Center and McLean Hospital. There I ventured into teaching guitar and voice.
