My teaching style is individualized to meet the needs of the students. I like to use a portion of the first lesson to discuss the goals and musical interest of the student regardless of age. I encourage beginner students to learn basic theory to develop rudimentary skills. I then try to incorporate a student’s favorite music into the lesson plans. Music is my passion, the guitar is my instrument. I taught myself through books, videos, mentors, loop pedals, HOURS and HOURS of practice, and 8+ years of live performance and improvisation throughout the 12+ years of being a guitarist. Because I learned on my own, I remember the speed bumps and learning curves in the beginning. My lessons can be catered to fit the style of music the student wishes to pursue, whether it be rock, jazz, heavy metal, classical, pop, etc. I work with students to find out what kind of music they are interested in pursuing and what their goals are. I focus on starting to play music quickly, and the student learns the theory and technique as we go. I'm a very enthusiastic and passionate instructor who truly loves sharing the joy and enrichment music brings to peoples lives. I've been studying the guitar since I was 13 years old with 10 years of formal training culminating in 2 semesters with Marc Manino at the State College of Florida. I've been playing professionally as a guitarist since I graduated from college.
