I have been performing since age 7 playing classical piano in recitals with my sister. I got my first guitar at the age of 12. At 15 I was playing around town with different bands. After years of playing in garage bands, I applied to Wayne State University and enrolled in their music department. My final goal is how to enjoy singing. In my opinion, the most important thing is that singing should be comfortable to both a singer and an audience. For this reason, I generally help them to sing comfortably. Most of the students have a common problem to sing. I would say it is artificial voice which makes their voice tired and injured. My teaching style is very focused on the student's desire to learn what they want. Very early into taking on a new student, I try to find what/who inspires them. Doing so allows me to tailor my teaching to each individual student. I also like to have 3 main "small improvement" objectives for each lesson. There's improvement on what we did during our last lesson, improvement during the lesson with something new I will introduce, and improvement for our next lesson with something I will give to the students to work on themselves after our lesson. I am an instructor who tailors lessons based on the student's desires. Having been a performer since I was 13 years old, I work as a musical coach. My performing experience varies from pop, rock, country, jazz, hard rock, contemporary Christian and classical. I am a classically trained pianist and vocalist.
