Hello my name is Luiggi and I’m a musician as well as music educator. I have played in several different groups ranging from styles such as rock, jazz, funk, blues, and hip hop. I have also composed my own music and I like to produce instrumentals. My main instrument is guitar but I also teach bass. As a teacher I have experience teaching young children, and young adults. Therefore, I believe that the process of learning music is more important than any particular performance that we work toward, so I take a pragmatic approach to instruction. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Mel Bay's Modern Guitar Method introducing them to simple single string melodies that aid in teaching them how to read in open position. Once the student has progressed and has a good foundation with the basics, I begin to incorporate more intricate rhythms and chords and eventually move them on to learning riffs and short songs that will help them meet their own individual goals. It depends on what the student wants to learn. I am there for them. I do make recommendations such as teaching out of a Hal Leonard instructions books (for beginners) and or CD's Play along CD's. , Chord Theories, voicing s and improvisational techniques for the intermediate students ( i.e. basic blues) if they choose to. I also like for them to record their progress (such as picking a basic tune they have learned) if possible so they can get an idea of what they sound like as another recommendation. Read More

In my teaching, I am always focused on transmitting the technique and knowledge for sophisticated playing, regardless of the style.
