I have about two years of teaching experience, all of which has been done out of the recording studio I worked out of. I've taught students of all ages, ranging from seven to seventy-two! My teaching is less about learning to mimic songs and it's more about learning how the guitar/bass work from a music theory perspective. There is certain flexibility that is tailored towards the student's choice of music he or she would like to learn. I also provide students the opportunity to learn songs of their choice. This can include reading guitar tabs, chord charts, lead charts, and still, sheet music. It is really up to the student, for I am able to teach one or all of these methods of learning songs. I absolutely love getting students really excited about their instrument. I like to show videos of high level playing and introduce a wide variety of genres and styles while I find exactly what it is that inspires the student to play. My lesson structure normally consists of a warm up, rudiment/sticking work, reading or playing exercise and new concepts, then work on a song.
