All materials are presented in detailed, organized PowerPoint presentations, which serve as both teaching tools and reference materials for students. I understand that not all students aspire to become expert guitarists, and thats perfectly okay. I have students who prefer a more casual approach, focusing on learning songs rather than an in-depth curriculum. Whether you are dedicated to advancing your guitar skills and musicianship or simply wish to enjoy a leisurely hobby by learning a few songs, I will tailor your lessons and practice routine to suit your individual needs. My methods depend on the student's age, what they may have already begun in lessons with another teacher, and I also take into consideration the assessment of their learning style-choosing a method that works best for their needs. Basically you could say that I have no 'one' method. I have as many methods as I have students because every single student deserves for me to take the time to get to know them and to find out what educational practices will fit best with their learning style and personality. I ultimately hope that I can instill my students with a passion for music while ensuring they have fun! I stress the importance of regular practice in order for students to make weekly progress, and ultimately desire to help them develop their playing technique and theoretical knowledge while making room for them to explore their personal interests and enjoy playing their instrument. Since I have a broad array of musical interests, I am accordingly open to incorporating different aspects of musical study such as writing and recording into lessons as students progress, as I find the act of creating something of one's own to be an incredibly valuable part of making music. I'm positive, goal focused, and hugely passionate about music! I want my students to love music as much as I do! I grew up taking lessons from teachers who treated it too much like a job. I think that'll rub off on how a student views music. Setting realistic goals with tons of encouragement will help accelerate learning. I see the most success when my students hit their first milestone and they finally realize all their hard work pays off and they can make music! Read More

I approach teaching as an avenue to inspire others. Making mistakes are just as important as playing something perfect. I like to stress that perfection is not the goal but feeling good from playing your instrument is. It is very important for my students to practice outside of lessons. I try to encourage that through positive reinforcements verses just saying you have to practice this lesson over and over. I make my guitar lessons fun which keeps my students coming back. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my senior year in high school when I started tutoring younger guitarists in the jazz band. That was 8 years ago. Since then, I've been teaching a number of students in their own homes, online, and even in my band's recording studio! Read More
