I try to learn as much as I can from all my influences and express it in my own way. Music is a deep reflection of a persons personality. Its taught me Discipline, Patience, Commitment, and a deep understanding of myself. Music should be shared with others, so get out there, jam, listen to the greats and learn. There are no limits on what you can achieve if you dedicate yourself. Read More

I have been teaching music lessons for over 5 years. When I first started, I taught part time for people in my church. I began to realize that I love to help develop people. I see myself as a catalyst for realizing full potential. I believe a teacher's greatest asset is not necessarily how much knowledge that can instill into their student, because knowledge can only take you so far. Rather a teacher's greatest asset is inspiration. Read More

For beginning students, I typically start with a foundation of basic music theory and chord structure. Once the student is comfortable and this knowledge has become second nature, we progress to honing their own particular tastes in their first recital performance. Whatever the case, I always try to teach based on what the student is interested in even during the basics, to keep the lessons exciting and fun. This also gives the students a goal to look forward to and something to emulate without just copying someone else. Read More

When I teach, I strive to create custom lesson plans and materials that are tailored to each student's unique needs and goals. My methods involve taking the time to get to know my students and understanding their individual strengths and weaknesses. I use this information to create lesson plans that are realistic and achievable based on the amount of time the student has to practice. We will be making music quickly! Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

I believe in creating individual course plans for each student. I always ask what the student wants to learn and if he has any particular songs he wants to learn to play. I try to teach him something basic as soon as possible that he can share with family and friends. This helps keep him interested. I teach how to hold and tune a guitar, left hand positioning, using all four fretting fingers and other basics. Read More

Teaching for me began as a complete accident but the love for it has been undying ever since. At the Berklee Day Sessions Summer Program in 2011, I played in and directed ensembles of musicians aged 10-13. I bonded with a guitar player and on the day of the recital, got my first private instruction student for bass guitar. Since then, I have taught at the Boys and Girls Club of Blue Hill in Dorchester, MA and the Hamilton-Garrett Music and Arts Academy in Roxbury, MA. Read More
