First I will assess each individual student based on their own skill level and requirements. In each lesson we will work on fundamentals of flute techniques, whether that is posture, embouchure, and/or finger techniques. In each of these lessons I hope to instill knowledge of music theory and history. Method books are a great structured way to quickly get confident on an instrument, however they don't often encourage listening skills or creativity.
